Ruby Developer – HTML5, Rails Javascript, TDD Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Ruby Developer to join our high profile client.Our client is in this year’s fintech50 and well known to disrupt the global payments and Foreign exchange markets.The position is for a hands mid level or senior Ruby Developer to build new and maintain existing Rails applications communicating with a Java API. The current team has 5 bleeding edge ruby and frontend developers who need some help to keep them from evangelising the world off. The Ruby Developer will be working within an Agile (ish looking to be better) team to design and deliver high quality bleeding edge applications.The Ruby Developer will also be responsible for:Designing and developing new applications working in collaboration with existing team membersPlay a major part in architecting the platformSome technology strategyTo design and help implement a REST apiHelp build a brand new web platform in RubySome Code reviewsThe project will be stabilising the development of their web based platform which is built on Java and AWS EC2 and Ruby. This project will involve getting to know the platform and then adding greenfield functionality as well as brining the platform together. It has been rapidly developed so there are some areas that need serious work and maintenance as well as complete redo’s.The stack is Ruby on Linux with some Angular.JS and Node.JS in parts.Ruby Developers Must have:Educated to degree level or equivalent5 years commercial development experience ideally purely in RubyExperience designing and building Rails application could be at homeRubyJavascriptHTML5CSS3Working knowledge of LinuxExperience with mobile applications would be beneficialCurrently Hadoop is used but not requiredThe environment is that of Facebook or Google, relaxed open with time to think and make the right decisions.
