And we're still growing.Powered by our deep-rooted entrepreneurial spirit, proprietary tech, curiosity and our incredible people, we’re accelerating - delivering best in class technology, the ultimate holiday app, and experiences that keep our customers coming back for more.Ready to build the future of travel with us?About the RoleAs a Software Engineer (Frontend), you’ll build modern full-stack applications and customer-facing experiences across the On the Beach platform.This is a genuinely full-stack engineering role, but with a stronger emphasis on frontend engineering, modern web development and customer experience.You’ll work across the application stack, from React and TypeScript interfaces through to backend services and APIs, while collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, designers and analysts.You’ll help us solve customer and engineering problems, improve the performance and quality of our digital products, and contribute to the continued development of the products and systems you work on.What you’ll be doing day to dayYou’ll work on customer-facing products used by millions of holidaymakers.Depending on the team and problem you’re working on, this could include:Building and maintaining production web applicationsCommercial experience with React and TypeScriptModern JavaScript and frontend engineering practicesCreating responsive and accessible user experiencesDeveloping and consuming backend APIsWorking with backend services and understanding how frontend applications interact with themBuilding or supporting applications in a cloud environment such as AWSAutomated testing across frontend and/or backend systemsDebugging and troubleshooting production applicationsWorking collaboratively with product, UX/design and engineering teamsMaking sensible technical decisions with support from more experienced engineersTaking responsibility for features from development through to productionContributing positively to engineering discussions and code reviewsYou don’t need to be equally strong in every area.We’re most interested in engineers with strong frontend fundamentals who are comfortable working beyond the browser and want to continue developing their full-stack capability.Experience within ecommerce, travel, marketplaces or another high-traffic consumer platform would be useful, but isn’t essential.You’ll be a great addition to our team if you have the following skills, knowledge and experienceWe are looking for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems and building scalable systems that operate reliably under high throughput environments.You will likely have experience in:Building scalable, production-grade web applicationsStrong commercial experience with React and TypeScriptModern JavaScript and frontend engineering practicesDesigning performant, responsive and accessible user experiencesDeveloping and consuming backend APIsBuilding and operating applications in a cloud environment such as AWSAutomated testing across frontend and backend systemsApplication monitoring, observability and troubleshootingWorking closely with product, UX/design and engineering teamsMaking pragmatic technical decisions in fast-moving product environmentsTaking ownership of software from design through to productionSupporting and mentoring other engineersYou don’t need to be equally strong in every area. We have core working hours between 10am - 4pm, so we can collaborate and enjoy the social side of work.We also have hybrid working so we all work from home and from our Aeroworks office in Manchester City Centre.
