Workshop Manager - Vans & HGVs - OldburySalary: £50,000 - £55,000 BasicMonday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmNo Weekends | Off the Tools | Excellent Benefits & Career ProgressionWe are recruiting an experienced Workshop Manager to take responsibility for a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Oldbury, overseeing the maintenance and repair of a fleet consisting of vans, LCVs and HGVs .This is a fully off-the-tools management position , ideal for an experienced Workshop Manager, Workshop Controller, Foreman or senior commercial vehicle professional looking to concentrate on leadership, workshop performance and people management.Due to the nature of the fleet, applicants will need a good technical understanding of the van, LCV and/or HGV industries , with previous experience working within a commercial vehicle workshop environment highly desirable.Salary & Benefits £50,000 - £55,000 basic salaryMonday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pmNo weekend working42.5-hour working week25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays rises with service to 30 daysAdditional birthday leaveAnnual salary reviewsCompany pensionLife assuranceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeCycle to Work schemeDiscounted vehicle hirePaid volunteering dayExcellent training and developmentGenuine long-term career progressionRelocation assistance where applicableWhy Work for Us?This is an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Manager looking to step away from the tools and take ownership of a busy commercial vehicle operation.You'll be joining a large, established organisation offering excellent job security, structured development and genuine opportunities to progress your management career.You'll manage a varied fleet of vans, LCVs and HGVs , making this particularly attractive for someone who already understands the demands of the commercial vehicle sector.With Monday-to-Friday hours and no weekend working, the position also offers an excellent work-life balance compared with many workshop management positions.Workshop Manager RoleAs Workshop Manager , you will take responsibility for the efficient day-to-day running of the workshop, leading the technical team and ensuring vans and HGVs are maintained, repaired and returned to service efficiently.Responsibilities will include:Managing the day-to-day operation of a busy van, LCV and HGV workshopLeading, supporting and developing a team of commercial Vehicle TechniciansPlanning and allocating workshop workloads effectivelyCoordinating servicing, maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairsMonitoring productivity, efficiency and workshop KPIsManaging vehicle downtime and maximising fleet availabilityEnsuring vans and HGVs are maintained to the required standardsEnsuring appropriate vehicle maintenance and compliance procedures are followedSupporting Technicians with technical issues and escalating where necessaryMonitoring jobs from initial booking through to completionEnsuring accurate workshop and maintenance records are maintainedManaging workshop health and safetySupporting recruitment, training, performance management and developmentLiaising with internal departments, suppliers and other stakeholdersDriving continuous improvement across workshop processes and performanceThis is an off-the-tools position.
