  • Offer technical advice and support to the venue’s AV Manager.
  • Set up and operate AV equipment to a consistently high professional standard.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed neatly, safely and correctly.
  • Maintain accurate stock checks of equipment stored on site.
  • Carry out basic maintenance and repairs of venue-based equipment.
  • Work closely with hotel operations staff to ensure rooms have the correct AV setup for each event.
  • Operate events as required, providing professional technical support to clients.
  • Assist the AV Manager with the supervision of freelance technicians working on our behalf.
  • Provide AV technical support to other venues in the local area.
  • Provide holiday and additional cover at other venues when required.
  • Be flexible to travel and stay away from home occasionally.
  • Maintain a professional, client-focused approach at all times.

You’ll ideally have experience in a live events or AV environment, with practical knowledge of some or all of the following:

  • Audio and sound equipment
  • Lighting
  • Vision and presentation systems
  • Rigging
  • Set and staging
  • Hotel conference and events environments

You’ll also need:

  • Good hands-on technical knowledge.
  • The ability to work independently while being a strong team player.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A professional, well-presented and client-facing approach.
  • The confidence to take initiative and solve problems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in your work.
  • A hard-working, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and at short notice when required.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Good computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Visio, Word and Outlook.

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Salary of £26,500–£27,500, depending on experience.
  • Overtime and bonus opportunities, with OTE of £31,000+.
  • Normal working hours are 08:00–17:00, with a one-hour lunch break.
  • Frequent evening and weekend work will be required, with overtime or time off in lieu provided.
  • Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required.
  • Six-month probationary period.
  • 23 days’ annual leave, plus applicable bank holidays.
  • Holiday year runs from 1 January to 31 December.
  • Opportunity to work across a varied range of live events and venues.
  • Full training and development opportunities within an experienced technical team.
