About CodeNode

CodeNode is a multi-purpose tech venue designed for digital, creative, and innovation events in Central London. Perfectly located between Moorgate & Liverpool Street Station, the venue hosts a variety of events, from community-run tech events to multi-day corporate conferences.

About the role

As our Technical Project Manager, you'll be responsible for taking conference and event bookings from confirmation through to successful delivery from a technical perspective.

Working alongside our Sales and Events teams, you'll help clients design the right AV solution for their event, coordinate technical planning, and ensure our freelance technicians have everything they need to deliver exceptional events.

This is primarily a planning and client-facing role. While you'll occasionally support onsite delivery, your focus will be on creating well-planned, stress-free events rather than operating equipment every day.

Client consultation

  • Meet clients to discuss technical requirements.
  • Translate client objectives into practical AV solutions.
  • Recommend appropriate AV packages and additional services.
  • Produce AV quotations and costings.
  • Review presentations, videos and technical content before events where required.

Event planning

  • Ensure all technical requirements are captured accurately.
  • Produce technical briefs for freelancers.
  • Coordinate equipment allocation.
  • Schedule freelance technicians.
  • Source and coordinate external rental equipment where required.
  • Identify technical risks before event day.

Event delivery

  • Provide freelancers with technical guidance.
  • Act as an escalation point where required.
  • Attend client set-ups and rehearsals where required and address technical queries.
  • Ensure events are delivered to a high standard.

Equipment & operations

  • Maintain AV inventory.
  • Coordinate routine equipment checks.
  • Identify equipment replacement, repair and rental requirements.
  • Arrange repairs and servicing when required.
  • Help improve technical standards and processes
  • Carry out appropriate technical health and safety checks and ensure identified risks are addressed before event delivery.
  • Continuous improvement
  • Improve technical documentation.
  • Develop standard operating procedures.
  • Standardise AV packages.
  • Support improvements to CRM and event planning workflows.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written documentation, confident verbal updates and effective stakeholder management across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in conferences, events or live production.
  • Solid knowledge of conference AV.
  • Experience planning or producing hybrid events.
  • Knowledge of streaming platforms.
  • Basic understanding of networking for AV and streaming.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Calm and confident under pressure.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Experience with digital audio consoles.
  • Experience using event management software.

What success looks like

  • Clients receive accurate technical advice.
  • Technical quotes are issued promptly.
  • Freelancers arrive with clear briefs.
  • Events start on time.
  • Minimal last-minute technical surprises.
  • Increased AV revenue through appropriate upselling.
  • Excellent client feedback.
  • Well-maintained documentation and processes.

Reporting Line & Working Relationships

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll work closely with our Sales and Events teams and our network of freelance technicians. Sitting between Sales and Operations, you’ll own the technical client journey from confirmed booking through to event delivery. Our freelance technicians will remain responsible for onsite execution, allowing you to focus on technical planning, client consultation, solution design and continuous improvement.

Perks & Benefits

  • AXA private health insurance.
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • 33 days’ holiday per year, including bank holidays.
