Location: Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex
Salary:£35,000 - £37,875 per annum

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a leading UK intermodal freight and logistics business based in Stanford-Le-Hope.

Working within a specialist container transport operation, you will be responsible for planning daily vehicle movements, coordinating drivers and subcontractors, maximising fleet utilisation and ensuring customer delivery requirements are achieved.

This role would suit an experienced Transport Planner with previous experience in container haulage, intermodal logistics, freight forwarding or road transport planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce daily transport plans based on customer orders and operational requirements

• Plan and coordinate container transport and vehicle movements

• Maximise fleet utilisation and support daily revenue targets

• Coordinate and resource subcontractor hauliers

• Negotiate subcontractor rates and manage transport costs

• Attend daily transport planning and operational review meetings

• Monitor transport performance and respond to operational changes

• Maintain strong levels of customer service and delivery performance

• Work collaboratively with other UK depots and transport teams

• Support the wider intermodal freight and container haulage operation

• Participate in a** weekend on-call rota **when required, completed remotely from home when required

Key Requirements

Essential:

• Minimum 3 years' Transport Planning experience

• Previous experience within container transport, intermodal freight, freight forwarding or logistics

• Experience of route planning, vehicle planning and fleet utilisation

• Experience coordinating subcontractors or transport suppliers

• Experience using TOPS

• Strong communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced transport planning environment
