Shift Engineer Location: LeedsSalary: £58,000 per yearJob type: PermanentShift pattern: 12-hour shifts 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days offAbout the role Are you an experienced Shift Engineer looking for a well-paid engineering role within a large-scale FMCG manufacturing environment?This is an opportunity to join a highly automated dairy manufacturing site in Leeds, where engineering reliability is critical to keeping a 24/7 production operation running safely and efficiently.As a Shift Engineer, you will work as part of a skilled engineering team responsible for planned maintenance, preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown response across complex processing, packaging and production equipment.You will have the opportunity to work with modern industrial technology while contributing to engineering improvements, root cause analysis and projects that improve reliability, safety and production performance.What you'll be doing As a Shift Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance across a 24/7 manufacturing siteResponding quickly and effectively to mechanical and electrical breakdownsFault finding on automated production and process equipmentMaintaining and troubleshooting CIP systems, pasteurisers, separators and homogenisersWorking on pumps, valves, flowmeters and heat exchangersSupporting automated control systems and associated production equipmentMaintaining filling lines, conveyors, chilling systems and other manufacturing machineryIdentifying recurring faults and contributing to root cause analysis (RCA)Supporting continuous improvement and engineering reliability initiativesWorking with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availabilitySupporting engineering projects, modifications and equipment improvementsCompleting maintenance records and updating the CMMS/SAP systemWorking safely and contributing to risk assessments and site safety standardsFollowing food manufacturing, hygiene, quality and engineering proceduresWhat we're looking for Essential Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering trainingNVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent engineering qualificationExperience working as a Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or similar engineering roleExperience within FMCG, food manufacturing, process manufacturing or another regulated production environmentStrong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding abilityExperience responding to breakdowns in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentExperience with planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Good problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsAbility to work a 12-hour rotating shift pattern covering days and nightsStrong commitment to health and safetyGood communication and teamwork skillsDesirable Experience with dairy, food or beverage processing equipmentExperience working with CIP systems, pasteurisers, separators or homogenisersExperience with conveyors, filling equipment, pumps, valves and heat exchangersExperience with automated control systemsSAP PM or another CMMS maintenance systemExperience supporting engineering projects or continuous improvementSalary and benefits This role offers a £58,000 annual salary together with a strong benefits package, including:£58,000 salary24 days annual leavePension contributions matched up to 6%Life assuranceFlexible benefits packageInternal training and development opportunitiesExternal training and professional developmentStructured engineering development and opportunities to broaden technical skillsPermanent, full-time employment12-hour shift pattern with 4 days off after each 2-day/2-night rotationOpportunity to work on advanced automated manufacturing equipmentExposure to major engineering projects and continuous improvement initiativesSupportive engineering team and collaborative working environmentApply now If you are an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Engineering Technician with a background in FMCG, food manufacturing, process manufacturing or a similar environment, we'd like to hear from you.Contact Logan at Stirling Warrington on 07754 554197 to discuss this role or other maintenance opportunities in West YorkshireTPBN1_UKTJ
