Location: UK - Hatfield | Job-ID: 219607 | Contract type: Standard | Business Unit: FacilitiesLife on the teamWe are seeking an experienced Shift Engineer to join our dedicated team at Computacenter. In this role, you will work to ensure that the highest standards in maintenance are consistently achieved. As part of the MHE department, you will be involved in maintaining and servicing a range of systems and effective recovery/rectification of any faults/planned maintenance on the MHE equipment. The successful applicant will be required to be onsite in our head office(Hatfield) 5 days a week, working shift patterns. Shift patterns are;- 06:00am-14:00pm AND 14:00pm-22:00pmWhat You'll DoElectrical maintenance of material handling equipmentPLC and three-phase fault finding and testingRespond promptly to machine faults and carry out planned maintenance on a scheduled basisProvide emergency response for essential equipment breakdownsEnsure regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to the highest standardsActively identify and rectify defects in a timely mannerSupport with facilities when requiredComplete time sheets, task sheets, and manage stock controlOrder consumables and manage administrative tasksWhat You'll NeedQualified and time-served technician with strong electrical backgroundExperienced in fault finding and rectification in a demanding production environmentPrevious experience of working with PLCs an advantageExperience in maintaining automated materials handling equipment or similarSelf-motivated and flexible with excellent interpersonal skillsGood communication skillsAble to work at heightsAstute practical awareness of Health and Safety principlesHealth & Safety qualification or training in the use of high bay racking access equipment and controlled descent rescue proceduresDesirableCity & Guilds/BTEC in Electrical EngineeringBasic mechanical skillsWorking knowledge of automated materials handling equipmentAbout usWe are a leading independent technology and services provider, trusted by large corporate and public sector organisations.
