Position: Electrical Bias Engineer (Internally known as Progressive Maintenance Shift Engineer)
Location: Hellaby (Home of KP Nuts)

Shift Details:

44 Weeks of the Year: Three-shift rotation, Monday to Friday

• 6:00am to 2:00pm
• 2:00pm to 10:00pm
• 10:00pm to 6:00am (Night shifts operate Monday to Thursday only)

Eight Weeks of the Year: 24/7 continental shift pattern

• 2 on / 2 off, 3 on / 2 off, 2 on / 3 off
• 12-hour shifts:
  • 6:00am to 6:00pm
  • 6:00pm to 6:00am

About the Role

As a Progressive Maintenance Shift Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring our production lines run safely, efficiently, and reliably. Collaborating with both Operations and Engineering teams, you’ll leverage your technical expertise to:

• Reduce downtime
• Enhance equipment performance
• Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives

You’ll take charge of both planned and reactive maintenance activities, utilizing lean manufacturing tools and root cause analysis techniques to identify issues and implement sustainable solutions. As a Subject Matter Expert in Intersnack Working Systems (IWS) and Progressive Maintenance (PM), you’ll also coach and develop Equipment Owners, fostering engineering capability across the site.

Your Responsibilities

• Delivering World-Class Maintenance: Ensure Planned Maintenance activities are completed effectively, defects are identified and resolved, and equipment remains reliable.
• Driving Continuous Improvement: Utilize lean manufacturing tools and root cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Supporting Operational Performance: Take ownership of IWS performance, contributing to Daily Direction Setting meetings and driving actions that enhance site performance.
• Developing Engineering Capability: Coach and train Equipment Owners in IWS engineering principles and maintenance activities.
• Providing Technical Expertise: Act as a Subject Matter Expert for Progressive Maintenance and IWS tools, supporting colleagues and embedding best practices.

What We’re Looking For

If you can bring the following, we’d love to hear from you:

• Recognised Engineering Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Engineering and an 18th Edition qualification, with experience as a multi-skilled engineer.
• Strong Mechanical and Electrical Expertise: Proven ability to diagnose faults and maintain a wide range of production equipment.
• Continuous Improvement Experience: Familiarity with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
• Coaching and Communication Skills: Ability to share knowledge and build strong relationships across teams.
• A Proactive and Positive Mindset: A can-do attitude and a genuine passion for Continuous Improvement.
