Structural Engineer - Structural SteelHuddersfield, UK Permanent | Up to 60,000 + BenefitsAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a Structural Engineer to join a well-established structural steel fabrication business delivering high-quality projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This is a hands-on design and engineering role working closely with fabrication, detailing, and project teams to deliver practical, buildable steel solutions from concept through to manufacture and erection.This position requires previous experience working within or alongside a structural steel fabricator, with a strong understanding of how designs translate into fabrication and site installation.What you'll do:Produce structural steel designs, calculations, and detailed engineering solutions for a range of projectsWork closely with fabrication and design teams to ensure all designs are practical, efficient, and buildableInterpret architectural and engineering drawings to develop structural steel concepts and connection designsCarry out design checks and ensure compliance with relevant UK standards and EurocodesLiaise with project managers, detailers, and workshop teams throughout the project lifecycleSupport technical queries during fabrication and erection phasesContribute to continuous improvement in design efficiency and fabrication methodsAttend internal and external project meetings as requiredYou'll need:Proven experience as a Structural Engineer within structural steel or a fabrication-led environmentStrong understanding of steel fabrication, connection design, and construction methodsExperience working with Tekla Structures or similar detailing/design software (desirable)Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsStrong knowledge of UK building regulations and EurocodesExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively with design, fabrication, and site teamsDegree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent (preferred)Why this role?Opportunity to work on a wide variety of technically interesting structural steel projectsJoin a highly experienced and supportive engineering and fabrication teamStrong pipeline of secured work ensuring long-term stabilityCompetitive salary up to 60,000 depending on experienceExcellent opportunity for career development within a growing businessInterested?
