Location: Norwich Rate: £400 per day Contract: 31 August 2026 18 December 2026 CSCS: Relevant CSCS card/certificate essential Sector: Civil Engineering / HighwaysWe are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major highways infrastructure project in the Norwich area.This is a site-based engineering role with responsibility for taking ownership of a defined section of works, leading the planning and coordination of activities and ensuring construction is delivered in accordance with the design and contract requirements.### The RoleYou will provide technical and operational leadership across your section of works, with responsibilities including:Managing, supervising and mentoring Site Engineers, Graduate Engineers and Apprentice EngineersCoordinating with engineers, supervisors, designers, subcontractors and client representativesProducing 3-month and 4-week lookahead programmesMonitoring progress against programme and identifying delays and mitigation measuresPlanning work sequences, constraints and interfacesProducing temporary works design briefsReviewing designs and raising technical queriesProducing and reviewing red-line drawingsMaintaining accurate site recordsManaging plant and material requirementsMonitoring subcontractor scopes and supporting payment reviewsIdentifying cost savings and efficienciesProducing and managing Inspection and Test PlansManaging materials approvals, quality records and Non-Conformance RecordsProducing and reviewing RAMSLeading health, safety and environmental standards across your sectionUndertaking safety and environmental inspections### Essential RequirementsCandidates should have:Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or an allied subject , or HND in Civil Engineering with relevant vocational training Strong site-based civil engineering experience Good understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies Knowledge of construction contracts Relevant CSCS Card Health & Safety and Environmental training such as SMSTS and SEATS Strong communication and leadership skills Good digital skills, including MS Office, document-control and site systems ### Particularly Relevant Experience Experience in any of the following would be highly advantageous:Major highways projects Excavation works and permits to dig / HSG47 Lifting operations Temporary Works Concrete works Structural steelwork This would suit an experienced Section Engineer, Senior Site Engineer or Civil Engineer with a strong highways/infrastructure background who can take ownership of a section of works from day one. £400 per day \| Norwich \| 31 August 18 December 2026 \| CSCS Essential Please apply with an up-to-date CV detailing your relevant highways/civil engineering project experience, qualifications and CSCS status.TPBN1_UKTJ
