About therole:


As part of the Forecasting & Hedging Team, you will;



  • Develop, maintain and enhanceforecasting models across import (consumption) and export (renewablegeneration) portfolios.

  • Research, evaluate and implementstatistical, machine learning and optimisation techniques to improveforecast accuracy and commercial value.

  • Lead peer reviews of code, modelchanges and analytical methodologies, ensuring high standards of qualityand best practice.

  • Design and deliver automatedreporting, dashboards and visualisations using Python, SQL and Power BI tosupport portfolio monitoring and informed decision-making.

  • Provide ad-hoc and time-criticalquantitative analysis to support Commercial, Renewables, Strategic Sales,Finance and other business areas.

  • Contribute to the development ofnew forecasting capabilities across power demand, renewable generation,weather, pricing and portfolio optimisation.

  • Build and maintain scalable dataprocessing and automation pipelines to support forecasting and analyticalworkflows.

  • Maintain awareness of industrydevelopments, regulatory changes and emerging analytical techniquesrelevant to the UK energy market.


Who we’relooking for:


To besuccessful in this role you’ll ideally have…



  • Strong quantitative andanalytical skills, supported by a degree in Mathematics, Statistics,Engineering, Physics, Economics or another relevant numerate discipline.

  • A good understanding ofwholesale electricity markets and industry fundamentals, or the ability todevelop this knowledge quickly. Ideally, you’ll have at least two years’experience in a relevant analytical or energy industry role and experienceof using Python & SQL.

  • Strong problem-solving skills,with the ability to use data and modelling techniques to developstructured, practical solutions that deliver commercial value.

  • Excellent communication andstakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complextechnical concepts clearly and work effectively across teams and projects.
