If youve also worked in the following roles, wed also like to hear from you: CNC Programmer, CNC Setter, CNC Operator, CNC Setter Operator, CNC Programmer Setter Operator, CNC Miller, CNC Turner, CNC Machine Operator, Precision Machinist, CNC Manufacturing Technician SALARY: £21.19 per Hour (Effective Hourly Rate on two-week shift pattern, includes night shift rate and shift allowance) + Overtime (paid at £26.96/hour) + Benefits LOCATION: Saltburn-by-the-Sea, East Cleveland JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: Two-week shift pattern, compressed hours. 4 x 10-hour day shifts, Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 17:30. 4 x 10-hour night shifts, Monday to Wednesday, 19:00 to 05:00, and Thursday, 17:30 to 03:30 JOB OVERVIEW This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering environment working on challenging and varied projects. As the CNC Machinist you will set, programme and operate medium and large CNC vertical or horizontal borers to machine a range of castings, forgings, profiles and fabrications in various metals. Working closely with production support colleagues, the CNC Machinist will help ensure components are produced accurately, safely and to high customer standards. DUTIES Your duties as the CNC Machinist include: CNC Programming and Setting: Set and programme medium and large CNC vertical or horizontal borers for one-off and varied machining work Machine Operation: Operate CNC machinery to produce precision components from castings, forgings, profiles and fabrications Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings to understand machining requirements, tolerances and specifications Quality and Measurement: Use manual measuring equipment to check dimensions and surface finish, ensuring work meets required standards Production Support: Work with the machine shop supervisor, team leaders, quality management and manufacturing engineering colleagues Safe Working: Follow safe working practices and take a careful, quality-focused approach to customer components Continuous Improvement: Build skills through the organisations competency framework and contribute to a positive, skilled machine shop team CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Time-served background through a machine shop apprenticeship Experience with milling machines, horizontal borers and/or vertical borers Able to set one-off jobs Programming skills Measurement skills using manual equipment, including dimensions and surface finish Able to read engineering drawings Careful, quality-focused approach to machining work Willingness to continue learning and developing skills BENEFITS Overtime paid at £26.96/hour Flexible working Continuous learning Professional development Subsidised canteen Health cash plan Life assurance Free on-site parking and cycle store Social events Recognition and long-service awards Pension scheme Cycle to Work scheme Tech Scheme HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
