The Company
Are you an experienced CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator looking for a permanent night shift offering a strong hourly rate and a four-night working week ?
Our client is an established precision engineering business producing specialist components across small to medium batch production . The company has a strong technical focus and provides an environment where experienced CNC engineers can use their skills rather than simply operating repeat programmes.
You'll be joining an experienced engineering team working with modern CNC machinery, including Haas machines and FANUC controls , with opportunities to develop your programming and machining skills further.

The Role
As a CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator , you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, producing a varied range of components from engineering drawings through to finished parts.
The work covers 3, 4 and 5-axis milling , predominantly across small to medium batch production. You'll have the opportunity to programme and set machines for different jobs, making this a role suited to someone who enjoys variety and technical challenge.
The company currently uses Fusion 360 and Edgecam , although experience with another recognised CAD/CAM system will be considered, with training available where required.

Key Responsibilities
Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
Working across 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining .
Producing components for small to medium batch production.
Programming and modifying CNC programmes as required.
Using Fusion 360, Edgecam or a similar CAD/CAM system .
Setting tooling, workholding, datums and machine offsets.
Working with FANUC controls .
Operating Haas CNC machinery .
Safely proving programmes and making adjustments where necessary.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Selecting appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds and machining strategies.
Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection.
Using precision measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.
Identifying and resolving machining issues.
Maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality throughout production.

About You
We're looking for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator who is confident programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery.
You don't necessarily need experience on every machine or CAD/CAM system. What's important is that you have a solid machining background, understand CNC programming and can confidently set and run machines.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience as a CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator .
Experience with 3, 4 or 5-axis milling .
Strong programming, setting and operating experience.
Experience of small to medium batch production .
Experience using FANUC controls .
Experience with Fusion 360, Edgecam or a similar CAD/CAM package .
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Good knowledge of cutting tools, feeds, speeds and machining techniques.
Experience with inspection and measuring equipment.
A methodical and quality-focused approach.

The following would be advantageous:
Experience programming complex components.
Experience with Haas CNC machinery.
Experience using both online and offline programming methods.
Experience across a range of CNC milling platforms.
Formal engineering or machining qualifications.

Shift Pattern
This is a permanent night shift working just four nights per week :
Monday: 17:00 - 05:00
Tuesday: 17:00 - 05:00
Wednesday: 17:00 - 05:00
Thursday: 16:00 - 04:00
Friday, Saturday and Sunday - OFF
