You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow, shaping a safer future, for all of us.From the depths of the ocean, to the far reaches of space, there’s no limit to where a career at BAE Systems could take you.Core Duties:Working across the full development lifecycle, including requirements, design, specification, implementation, and acceptance testingThe design and implementation/modelling of database tablesImplementation of database packages using the Structured Query Language (SQL)Performance monitoring and enhancement of an Oracle database, monitoring the Oracle website for updates and engaging with Oracle to request patches as well as Horizon scanning for vulnerabilitiesConfiguring Windows/Linux/RHEL operating systemsCreating bespoke applications and automated deployment using PowerShellEssential Skills:You will have proven experience administering Oracle Database 19c in Windows Server environmentsYou will understand best practices for user management, roles, and profiles to ensure secure, robust least-privilege access controlsYou will have hands-on experience with Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU) and Patch Set Updates (PSU) including patch assessment, planning and implementing using OPatchYou will have experience supporting production environments, including incident troubleshooting and root cause analysisYou will have systems development lifecycle experience, from design through to testingDefence domain knowledge is desirableThe Foundation team:This exciting systems & software programme covers many disciplines including design, development, installation, implementation, integration, acceptance, training and logistics support – it is run solely from our Christchurch site for delivery to our customer at various MoD locations.Why BAE Systems?Here you’ll build a career with purpose and limitless possibilities.
