CNC ProgrammerSkelmersdale | £40,000 + Bonus + BenefitsA leading engineering and manufacturing business operating within Oil, Gas & Marine is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Programmer to join their team in Skelmersdale.This is a highly hands-on role focused on programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery, producing precision components for subsea applications. The successful CNC Programmer will play a key role within a busy machine shop environment where priorities can change quickly, requiring someone who enjoys problem-solving, adapting to changing schedules and taking ownership of work from programming through to final inspection.Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will be responsible for developing machining programs, supporting production requirements and driving efficient manufacturing processes across the department.ResponsibilitiesProgram CNC milling machines using Autodesk PowerMill and Fanuc controlsSet and operate CNC machinery to manufacture precision components to engineering drawingsProgram, set and operate 5-axis machining centresSelect tooling, fixtures and machining strategies to maximise efficiency and qualityDesign and manufacture work-holding solutions and fixtures where requiredCarry out first-off, in-process and final inspections using standard measuring equipmentSupport Production with changing priorities and urgent manufacturing requirementsLiaise with Design Engineers and Production teams regarding machining methods and process improvementsTroubleshoot machining issues and optimise programs to improve cycle times and productivitySupport continuous improvement initiatives throughout the machine shopEnsure all work is completed safely and in line with quality standardsRequirementsPrevious experience as a CNC Programmer, CNC Miller Programmer or Programmer Setter OperatorStrong CNC milling backgroundExperience with Autodesk PowerMillExperience programming, setting and operating CNC machinesKnowledge of Fanuc controlsExperience working with 3-axis, 4-axis or 5-axis machining centresAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawingsStrong understanding of tooling, fixtures and machining processesExperience within precision engineering, aerospace, defence, oil & gas, tooling or similar manufacturing environmentsAble to work effectively in a fast-paced shop floor environment where production priorities can changeBenefitsSalary up to £40,000Annual Bonus SchemePension SchemeLife AssuranceEmployee Assistance ProgrammeCareer Development OpportunitiesStable and growing engineering businessIf you have the required skills for this CNC Programmer position or would like to learn more, please get in touch ASAP with an up-to-date copy of your CV.
