Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer

A well-invested aerospace precision engineering business is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer to join its engineering team.

This is a technically focused role supporting the manufacture of complex aerospace components, with responsibility for programming, process development, tooling, fixtures and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

Create and optimise 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC programmes
Develop manufacturing processes, routings and setup methods
Design and implement work-holding and fixture solutions
Select tooling and support process improvement activities
Drive first-time-right production and reduce manufacturing inefficiencies
Liaise with production, quality and engineering teams on new and existing products
Support the introduction of new components into manufacture

Requirements

Proven CNC programming experience in a precision engineering environment
Strong understanding of 3, 4 and 5-axis machining
Experience developing manufacturing methods and setup strategies
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable
Hypermill experience would be advantageous
