Overview
Pen Underwriting is looking to hire a data technician within the Business Operations team. The Business Operations team are responsible for the management and oversight of data ingestion across the Pen underwriting business. It is the role of the team to ensure that data is collected, processed, and uploaded into our core systems efficiently and accurately.
As an integral part of the team, the role will be responsible for monitoring data quality, troubleshooting issues with our supporting brokers and resolving queries efficiently. The role extends to delivering reporting to our insurer partners and internal stakeholders.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who is adept at balancing multiple priorities and meeting monthly deadlines. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute towards process improvements.

How you'll make an impact- Monitor & Troubleshoot: You'll play a crucial role in monitoring insurance data quality, troubleshooting issues, and resolving queries with our supporting brokers.
- Reporting Excellence: Deliver comprehensive insurance reports to our insurer partners and internal stakeholders, contributing to our success.
- Process Improvement: Be a key player in suggesting and implementing process improvements to enhance team efficiency in insurance data management.
- Collaborative Environment: Work closely with various Pen teams, including actuarial pricing, Operations, and Finance, on exciting ad hoc projects related to insurance data.
- Excel Expertise: Strong skills in Excel, including VLOOKUPS, analysing data from spreadsheets and pivot tables.
- Analytical Mindset: A logical approach with the ability to quickly understand data validations and behaviour concepts.
- Data Interpretation: Be capable of analysing and interpreting data trends and effectively communicating findings to stakeholders and management.
- Relationship Building: Comfortable in building rapport and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Eager Learner: Keen to learn new concepts in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership: Ability to take ownership of processes and issues from investigation to resolution.
- Insurance Experience: Beneficial but not essential.
- Hybrid Role: Flexibility to work both in-office and remotely.
- Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK.
