Job Description

  • Location: Waterford, Ireland

  • Working pattern: Full-time, onsite, with some opportunity to work from home depending on the role and business needs

  • Contract: 23-month Fixed-Term Contract

  • Programme start: October 2026

About the opportunity

Are you a recent Engineering graduate ready to start your career this October?

Our Engineering Graduate Programme in Waterford is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate who is ready to take the first step in their engineering career and join us in October 2026.

You’ll build hands-on experience across different areas of engineering while contributing to projects that support the manufacture of medicines and healthcare products for patients around the world.

Over the course of the programme, you’ll complete three rotations across Process Engineering, Project Engineering and Validation, giving you broad exposure to how engineering supports a modern biopharmaceutical manufacturing site.

From day one, you’ll be part of the team, working alongside experienced colleagues, contributing to real projects and developing the technical and professional skills that will help you build your career.

About our Waterford site

For more than 20 years, our Waterford team has continued to grow and diversify to serve patients around the world. Today, more than 800 colleagues work together at our state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical and medical device campus.

Our Waterford site offers the opportunity to build your career within a diverse and collaborative environment, with access to learning and development opportunities, attractive benefits, an onsite gym and medical centre, and a strong focus on employee health and wellbeing.

What you’ll experience

  • Process Engineering

    • You’ll learn how engineering principles are applied within biopharmaceutical manufacturing and build your understanding of process control, manufacturing standards and continuous improvement.

    • You may support projects across areas such as formulation, filling, filter integrity testing, wash/autoclave processes, new product introduction and capacity expansion. You’ll also gain exposure to activities such as investigations, batch release support and trend reporting.

  • Project Engineering

    • You’ll gain practical experience supporting a variety of engineering projects across the Waterford site.

    • Working alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll learn how engineering projects are planned and delivered safely, effectively, on time and within budget.

  • Validation

    • You’ll learn how new equipment, systems and processes are qualified and validated within a regulated biopharmaceutical environment.

    • You’ll gain experience across the validation lifecycle, including preparing and executing qualification protocols and reports, completing validation documentation and supporting activities in line with Sanofi and regulatory requirements.

About you

We’re looking for a recent Engineering graduate who is ready to start their career with us in October 2026 and is excited to develop within the biopharmaceutical industry.

You should:

  • Have graduated within the past two years.

  • Be available to start the programme in October 2026.

  • Have a minimum 2.1 degree or Master's qualification in Engineering.

  • Have a good working knowledge of database query tools such as SQL or PL/SQL.

  • Have some relevant practical experience, for example through an internship, work placement, university project or other relevant experience.

  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Be able to organise and prioritise your work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Be proactive, willing to learn and comfortable taking initiative.

  • Enjoy working collaboratively while also being able to work independently.

  • Have strong communication skills and be comfortable working with different colleagues and stakeholders.

Our recruitment process

Once you’ve submitted your application, our Early Careers Talent Recruitment team will review it against the programme requirements.

If selected to Progress, you’ll be invited to complete an online video interview, where you can tell us more about yourself, your motivation and your interest in the programme.

Successful candidates will then progress to a conversation with a member of our recruitment team.

The final stage will be an interview with our team, giving you the opportunity to meet some of your potential colleagues and managers and learn more about Sanofi and the programme.

Final interviews are planned for the end of September, with the successful candidate joining the programme in October 2026. Please make sure you are available to start within this timeframe before applying.

Why choose us?

  • Stretch your skills through apprenticeships, internships, graduate programs, and international experiences that grow with you.

  • Learn from inspiring mentors and collaborative teams while contributing to real projects that shape the future of healthcare.

  • Build your future with access to the latest tools, digital innovation, and continuous learning that keep you ahead of the curve.

  • Grow in a purpose-driven company where your voice matters and your work helps improve millions of lives.

  • Thrive in inclusive, flexible workplaces that support your personal and professional well-being.

  • Launch your career with a company that invests in you — and empowers you to reimagine what’s possible.
