R&D Engineer - Embedded Electronics & Firmware
East Sussex

We're looking for an experienced R&D Engineer to join a growing engineering team, helping to develop and enhance a range of embedded electronic products from concept through to production. This is an opportunity to work on innovative technology, contributing across the full product lifecycle within a collaborative R&D environment.

The Role
You'll play a key role in the development of embedded electronic products, working closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver robust, reliable solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:
Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits for embedded systems
Developing embedded firmware in C for microcontroller-based products
Supporting products throughout their lifecycle, including component selection and obsolescence management
Modifying mechanical designs where required using CAD
Developing bespoke product variants to meet customer requirements
Supporting testing, validation, and continuous product improvement

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:
Experience in embedded electronics product development
Strong embedded firmware development experience (Embedded C)
Analogue and digital electronics design experience
PCB design and schematic capture experience
Some exposure to mechanical design/CAD

Experience within safety-critical, industrial, communications, or embedded product development would be highly beneficial.
