LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive universityData and Technology ServicesDevOps LeadSalary from 53,949 to 62,160 pa inclusive with potential to progress to 69,073 pa inclusive of London allowanceThis is a fixed term appointment for two yearsThe London School of Economics is a cosmopolitan university situated in the vibrant centre of London that specialises in the study of social sciences.LSE’s Data and Technology Services division provides services to over 10,000 staff and student users.The DevOps Lead will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the LFY Programme and associatedinitiatives, combining hands-on engineering expertise with leadership of a small team of DevOps and DataOps engineers working across projects and products. Working within the newly established Engineering function, the role will collaborate closely with the Head of Engineering, Platforms, Networks, Security, Architecture and Delivery Leads to adopt existing operational and engineering standards into project and product delivery, while introducing modern DevOps practices where needed. The postholder will act as a bridge between operational services and project/product delivery teams, helping ensure infrastructure, automation, deployment and support requirements are designed and delivered in a way that is scalable, secure, reliable and supportable. The role will provide additional technical leadership and coordination while the Engineering function evolves and matures. Candidates should have:-       Strong knowledge of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms, including experience supporting hybrid environments spanning public cloud and on-premise infrastructure.-       Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible or equivalent.-       Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Ansible or equivalent technologies.We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.For further information about the post, please see the how to apply document, job description and the person specification.
