All their clients have recently moved to a SAAS platform and this role looks to push the team towards Automation and Devops.Working closely with Development and customer facing support teams, the role will require you to deliver on internal projects, BAU workstreams (patching, application and infrastructure support) and supporting the development team to meet deadlines.Day to Day the Automation Engineer will:Contribute toward design improvements that allow for more efficient support of the environment, applications and clientsProcess AutomationBuild a better managed services solutionActively contribute to increasing the availability of services by providing iterative improvements to existing infrastructure solutionsResearch and identify the most appropriate options for the delivery infrastructure.Design the architecture of the required infrastructureManage the deployment, maintenance and upgrade paths of the infrastructureConnectivityThe environment is that of Facebook or Google, relaxed open with time to think and make the right decisions. Powershell on Windows and Linux is used throughout our platformProficient level of Cloud awareness in Azure (although we will consider other Cloud knowledge)Worked in a team with GitOps frameworkGood understanding of Microsoft SQL and Database deploymentsCore containerisation knowledgeStrong experience with automated deployment tools.My client is growing rapidly as they expand the audience for their products.
