Role DescriptionThe Dental Ceramist is a full-time, on-site role based in Billingham. The role involves fabricating and customizing dental ceramics, including crowns, bridges, veneers, and other restorations, to meet prescribed specifications and high aesthetic standards. Day-to-day tasks include shade matching, layering porcelain, contouring and polishing restorations, and ensuring accurate fit and occlusion. The Dental Ceramist will collaborate with dental technicians and clinicians, interpret lab prescriptions, maintain accurate records, and follow laboratory protocols and health and safety guidelines. The position also includes quality control checks and continuous improvement of techniques to support consistent, high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills, including handling materials, using dental lab equipment, and following established protocols.
- Proficiency in dental technology, with experience in ceramics, crowns, bridges, and aesthetic restorations.
- Understanding of dentistry concepts, including occlusion, anatomy, and shade selection for natural-looking results.
- Experience working within a team of laboratory technicians, contributing to efficient workflows and collaborative problem-solving.
- Knowledge of denture fabrication or adjustment is beneficial.
- Relevant qualification in dental technology or equivalent experience in a dental laboratory setting.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to follow prescriptions accurately, meet deadlines, and communicate clearly with colleagues and clients.
