Salary: £40,600 per annum
Location: Felsted, Essex (own transport is essential)
We have an exciting opportunity available for you to join our team as an Database Specialist. You will be based at Felsted working on a full-time, permanent basis and in return, we are offering a competitive salary of £40,600 per annum, plus excellent benefits.

About the role:
As a Local Hospice Lottery Database Specialist, you will be responsible for providing data support to the whole organisation designing and implementing reports using the Lottery databases
The role will also support the development of database solutions to deliver process efficiencies, the integration of new partners’ member data and the creation and extraction of data sets.
In addition, the role will provide support to the Lottery Operations Team.
The successful candidate will need to have outstanding database skills, be a real team player and possess the ability to confidently interact with people in a friendly and constructive manner.
This role is based in Felsted, Essex and due to the location, having your own transport is essential, as is a flexible approach to the working hours required.
(Please note: you may be required to work both from home and the office)
What we are looking for in our ideal Database Specialist:
- Ideally, a Degree in an IT-based discipline, or alternatively a recognised qualification in an IT based discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Substantial experience / qualifications of writing in SQL to generate reports and queries from databases
- Experience of holding responsibility for and effectively managing databases and administrative systems
- Experience in using CRM Databases, ideally Donorflex and/or other lottery databases
- Managing large amounts of data; data cleansing and transfer to secure sites and of building data mappings/rules for the accurate transformation/transfer of data files between database systems.
- Experience / Qualifications in project management
- Experience of working with end-users to understand their data requirements
- Analytical skills to identify trends in data and provide explanations/action plans
- A clear understanding of current legislation and policy regarding GDPR
- Working within tight deadlines whilst working with accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to use initiative and work independently to solve problems.
