Job Description

Data Input & Compliance Executive Location: Derby Salary: £30,000 per annum Job Type: Full Time Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm | Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm Department: Operations / Compliance Reports To: MIS Manager About Momentum Training Momentum Training is a leading independent training provider delivering government-funded training programmes, Skills Bootcamps and employability programmes across the UK. We are committed to delivering high-quality training and supporting learners to develop the skills, qualifications and confidence required to progress into sustainable employment. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an organised, accurate and detail-focused Data Input & Compliance Executive to join our Derby team. This is a key administrative and data-focused role, responsible for ensuring learner information is accurately entered, maintained and compliant across Momentum's systems. The successful candidate will work closely with the MIS Manager and wider teams to ensure data is accurate and complete ahead of monthly funding and ILR submissions. The Role As a Data Input & Compliance Executive, you will be responsible for the accurate input, maintenance and checking of learner and programme information across Momentum Training's internal systems. A large part of the role will involve entering learner information, checking records for accuracy, identifying missing or incorrect information and following up with colleagues to ensure records are completed correctly. You will work closely with the MIS Manager to support the preparation of the monthly Individualised Learner Record (ILR), ensuring that the underlying learner data is accurate and that any outstanding issues are identified and resolved before submission. The role would suit someone who is highly organised, comfortable working with data and spreadsheets and has excellent attention to detail. Previous experience within education, training, funding or compliance would be advantageous but is not essential for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Accurately input learner, course, attendance, achievement and progression information into internal systems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner records throughout the learner journey. Complete regular data quality checks to identify missing, inaccurate or inconsistent information. Investigate data discrepancies and work with relevant colleagues to resolve them. Support the MIS Manager with monthly ILR preparation and data checking. Ensure learner information is entered within required timescales and in line with internal procedures. Monitor outstanding data and compliance actions and follow up with relevant teams. Check learner documentation and records to ensure required information is present and accurate. Support compliance checks across learner files and internal systems. Assist with funding and audit preparation by ensuring supporting evidence is complete and accurately recorded. Maintain accurate records using PICS and other internal systems. Update learner information following changes to enrolments, withdrawals, achievements and other learner activity. Produce basic reports and spreadsheets when required by the MIS Manager or management team. Work closely with Learner Engagement Officers, tutors and centre teams to resolve data and documentation issues. Ensure confidential learner and organisational information is handled appropriately and securely. Identify recurring data entry or compliance issues and highlight these to the relevant manager. Support the wider administration and compliance function when required. Ensure all work is completed accurately, professionally and within agreed deadlines. Essential Requirements The successful candidate will have previous experience in administration, data input, data administration, compliance or a similar detail-focused role. You will have excellent attention to detail and be comfortable working with large volumes of information. Strong IT skills are essential, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. You will be confident entering information accurately into computerised systems and checking your own work for errors. The ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues and follow up with colleagues to obtain missing information is essential. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to manage your workload effectively while working to deadlines. Good written and verbal communication skills are required, as you will regularly communicate with colleagues across the business to resolve data and compliance issues. Desirable Experience Experience within the education, training, further education or employability sector would be advantageous. Knowledge of government-funded training, learner records or funding compliance would be beneficial. Experience working with PICS or a similar learner management system would be desirable. Previous exposure to ILR data, funding submissions or ESFA funding requirements would be an advantage, although full training and support will be provided. Experience working with Excel spreadsheets, data validation, filtering and basic reporting would also be beneficial. Personal Attributes We are looking for someone who is highly organised, methodical and naturally detail-focused. You will take pride in producing accurate work and will have the patience and concentration required for regular data entry and checking. You will be proactive when identifying errors or missing information and confident following these issues through to resolution. Reliability and consistency are important, as the role involves working to regular deadlines around learner data and monthly funding submissions. You will be professional, approachable and comfortable working as part of a wider team while also being able to manage your own workload independently. Confidentiality is essential, as the role involves handling learner and organisational information. What We Offer Momentum Training offers a competitive salary of £30,000 per annum and a Monday to Friday working pattern, with an early finish at 4:00pm on Fridays. You will benefit from a company pension scheme, free onsite parking, ongoing training and professional development opportunities and a supportive and collaborative working environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing training provider and develop your experience across data administration, compliance, learner records, funding and ILR processes. You will work closely with an experienced MIS Manager and gain valuable knowledge of the systems and processes behind government-funded training delivery. Equality, Diversity and Safeguarding Momentum Training is committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners. The successful applicant will be required to undertake appropriate pre-employment checks, including a DBS check where applicable
