The business is known for its hands‑on leadership team, strong client relationships, and a practical, delivery‑focused culture.

As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a Project Manager who can take ownership of projects, lead site teams, and ensure high‑quality delivery from pre‑construction through to handover.

This role is all about taking ownership of fit‑out and refurbishment projects, mainly across the Thames Valley with the occasional trip further afield. You’ll be running the job on site, coordinating subcontractors, keeping clients updated, and making sure the project stays on track. It’s a practical, delivery‑focused position within a straightforward, supportive contractor that values clear communication and reliable project management.

  • Oversee logistics, sequencing, and site planning, adapting to fast‑track environments.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Attend progress meetings, provide updates, and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build strong, long‑term relationships through clear communication and reliable delivery.

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Work closely with the commercial team to support cost control, variations, procurement, and reporting.
  • Monitor project budgets and flag risks or opportunities early.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, including progress reports, site records, and handover packs.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of health & safety across all sites.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, industry regulations, and client requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Team Leadership

  • Lead site teams with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
  • Support junior staff and promote a collaborative working environment.
  • Drive a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering commercial or industrial fit‑out/refurbishment projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site management, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Solid knowledge of health & safety requirements (SMSTS, CSCS).
  • Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage fast‑track programmes and adapt to changing priorities.
