We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a major enterprise data and AI transformation programme, working through a leading Managed Service Provider.

This is an initial 3-month contract with likely extensions, offering £750–£800 per day Inside IR35 and requiring 2 days per week on-site in Manchester or Leeds.

You’ll be working within a complex, enterprise-scale environment, building the data pipelines and platforms that underpin AI/LLM and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines


• Developing cloud-native data solutions within GCP


• Engineering data platforms to support AI/LLM and RAG solutions


• Building large-scale data ingestion, processing and enrichment capabilities


• Developing event-driven architectures using Kafka


• Building automation and data engineering solutions using Python and SQL


• Supporting enterprise search, indexing and data retrieval capabilities


• Ensuring data quality, governance, lineage and scalability

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

• Strong commercial GCP experience


• Excellent Python and SQL skills


• Strong Kafka / event-driven architecture experience


• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments


• Exposure to AI/LLM and RAG solutions


• Experience with BigQuery, vector databases, graph technologies or enterprise search would be beneficial

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a major enterprise programme at the intersection of data engineering, cloud and Generative AI.
