Technology Specialist

  • Job Type: Permanent

  • Salary: £38,220 – £40,777 per annum
  • Location: Newry or Portadown Campus

This role is pivotal in enhancing regional economic growth through strategic partnerships and innovative technology solutions.

Duties:

  • Lead and deliver innovative business solutions to micro businesses and SMEs, enhancing the Companies role as a primary provider of business support and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify, secure, and manage technical projects and knowledge transfer services, focusing on sectors such as food innovation, product design, lean manufacturing, IT, and tourism.
  • Collaborate with various industry groups and academia to expand the College’s capacity to offer relevant support services.
  • Engage in research and development programs, and assist client companies with funding applications for various innovation and development programs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business clients, conducting audits and reviews to tailor service provisions effectively.
  • Work closely with the Head of Innovation Technology and Economic Engagement and other key stakeholders to align activities with the College’s strategic goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Digital Technology, or related area).
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a relevant industry environment or in providing technical expertise/mentoring to businesses.
  • Proficiency in areas relevant to the specific track (Engineering or Digital), such as product design, software engineering, cloud computing, or e-commerce.
  • Strong ability to plan, organise, and lead projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Must have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel between sites is required.
